AirAsia is set to soar into the South Indian city of Kerala, launching its first direct service from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, starting February 21st.

This exciting news brings convenient and affordable travel options to passengers while boosting tourism in Kerala and South Tamil Nadu.

Operating with a 180-seater Airbus 320, the new route will initially operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Departing Thiruvananthapuram at 12:25 AM, passengers will arrive in Kuala Lumpur at 11:50 PM.

AirAsia’s vast network connects Kuala Lumpur to popular destinations like Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Singapore, fulfilling a long-standing demand for increased East Asian connectivity.

This development is particularly welcomed by the IT sector in Kerala and South Tamil Nadu, offering easier access to business opportunities and cultural exchanges.

The airport statement highlights the positive impact: “This new service will not only provide a convenient and affordable travel option for passengers, but it will also boost the travel and tourism sectors of Kerala and South Tamil Nadu.”
