In celebration of its 90th anniversary, Aeromexico is introducing a refreshed brand image for its aircraft, featuring an updated version of the renowned Caballero Aguila emblem, originally established in 1959. The new design that will grace the airline’s fleet signifies the brand’s progression, conveying warmth, infusing energy and modernity, while also embodying the essence of contemporary Mexico.
The updated design was first introduced on the fuselage of an Embraer-190 aircraft, identified by the registration number XA-IAC. This new image will be progressively adopted across the fleet of over 150 aircraft belonging to Mexico’s global airline.
The revised depiction of the Caballero Aguila features a more relatable and empathetic expression, aligning with Aeromexico‘s commitment to fostering a deeper connection with its customers, employees, and partners. The newly designed helmet symbolizes the aircraft fuselage at the top, while the lower section retains the iconic plumage from the original design.
The redesign process was executed at the International Aerospace Coatings (IAC) facility located in Amarillo, Texas. This involved stripping the existing paint from the fuselage, wings, engines, and other surfaces to facilitate the application of the new design.
By the conclusion of 1959, the Caballero Aguila was established as the official emblem of the company, coinciding with the renaming of all its aircraft to reflect the Aztec heritage. Since that time, the company has undergone continuous evolution, solidifying its status as one of the most iconic and historically significant airlines globally.
