BEIRUT, Lebanon – Tourism Minister Michel Pharaon issued a statement to announce the establishment of a committee for the activation of rural tourism in Lebanon.

BEIRUT, Lebanon – Tourism Minister Michel Pharaon issued a statement to announce the establishment of a committee for the activation of rural tourism in Lebanon.

“The committee aims at giving recommendations on rural tourism in Lebanon including advice on how to enhance it while studying internal and external factors that impact its performance,” it said, adding that the committee was also responsible for coordinating with officials to improve Lebanon’s ranking among the world’s rural touristic destinations.

“It is also responsible for cooperating with the civil society and tourism experts in the world to improve these types of activities,” it said. The decision comes within the framework of a five-year plan for rural tourism in Lebanon which will be announced by the ministry soon.
