In a move to further stimulate tourism from Brazil to Europe, ETOA – the European Tourism Association, has announced a strategic partnership with the Brazilian Tour Operators Association (BRAZTOA) and the European Travel Commission (ETC).

As part of the partnership, BRAZTOA members will be able to attend ETOA’s B2B workshop, the Global European Marketplace (GEM), previously available only to ETOA members. Taking place on Friday 31st October, the week before WTM London, GEM is an intense networking event where new business connections are made and reinforced. BRAZTOA buyers will join ETOAโ€™s tour operators and wholesale buyers, to meet European suppliers for a day of pre-scheduled business appointments.

Martine Ainsworth-Wells of ETOA said โ€œWith the total outbound Brazilian market valued in excess of $26.2billion annually, Europe must work hard to increase the estimated 3.8 million arrivals from Brazil and its global share of the tenth biggest travel spenders. The partnership will open up business opportunities between the long-haul operators from South America with European destinations, accommodation providers and other tourism services providers.โ€

Marco Ferraz Chairman, BRAZTOA, said: โ€œWe are very happy and pleased with the invitation and the ETOA/ETC partnership. It is the first time that a Brazilian tourism association has established such close ties with a similar European entity. We are sure that this meeting will be very important and productive for business improvement and for sharing information about the peculiarities of tourists from Brazil.โ€

Eduardo Santander, CEO, ETC said: โ€œETC is glad to be the link between ETOA and BRAZTOA. This partnership is an important milestone to generate long-term business on both sides of the ocean. We truly believe in this kind of joint initiative between tour operator organisations, not just as a strategy to increase business volumes and revenues but also as a way to share best practice.โ€
