Hawaii tourists booked on airline flights on August 7, may or may be affected by the approach of two major tropical storms or possible hurricanes to the Aloha State. Hawaiian Airlines will waive reservation change fees and differences in fares for customers who need to change their travel plans because of Hurricane Iselle and Tropical Storm Julio.

It is expected other airlines may follow Hawaiian Airlines guidance.
United Airlines is studying the weather situation and suggests for United Passengers to check before heading to the airport for flights from and two Hawaii.

Hawaii Civil Defense authorities consulted with tourism leaders in Waikiki and other tourism centers on all Hawaiian islands on how to prepare for a possible hurricane.

Latest weather report however predict the Big Island of Hawaii and Maui may be most affected by the approaching storm causing authorities to close schools and prepare shelters.

Customers who are ticketed on Hawaiian Airlines for travel on August 7 and 8, 2014 will be permitted to change their reservations without charge to flights through August 12, 2014. Change must be made prior to the departure of the originally scheduled flight and ticketed on or before August 12, 2014.

All change fees and applicable difference in fares will be waived provided that changes are made in the same class of service (i.e., Coach to Coach or First to First), based on seat availability and subject to the restrictions noted above. Changes must be made by Hawaiian Airlines personnel in Reservations or at the airport.

Normal refund rules will apply.
