Many passengers and guests at Munich Airport witnessed a spectacular scene today when a pianist, borne on a “flying carpet,” descended to the tarmac with his “Orange Piano” late this afternoon.

The visit to Munich Airport was part of the “Orange Piano Tour” by musician and singer Stefan Aaron, whose trademark is guest appearances at unusual locations.

The aluminum carpet, suspended 40 meters below a cargo helicopter, was gently lowered to a spot on the western apron of Munich Airport for a concert with about 100 invited guests. Backed by a large choir and numerous soca dancers, Aaron performed a program that included the “Munich Airport Soca Song” composed for the occasion.

The appearance at Munich Airport is the fourth stop on Stefan Aaron’s “Orange Piano Tour,” which has taken him in recent years to the Swiss Alps, the top of the Great Wall of China, and a Norwegian fjord.
