Almost as soon as the Netherlands seized World Cup victory from the Mexican team on Sunday, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines posted a tweet that, instead of praising Dutch heroic come-from-behind effort, taunted Mexico for its failure to advance.

In a tweet that has since been deleted (someone higher up than the social-media department at KLM apparentl realized that effectively soliciting a boycott by 1.7% of the worldโ€™s population did not make any business sense), KLM shared a photo of an airport departures sign with the caption โ€œAdios Amigos!โ€ only minutes after the Dutch team prevailed over the Mexicans with a late penalty kick at the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

The tweet created quite a controversy online, with many suggesting it was celebrating Mexicoโ€™s loss rather that celebrating the Dutch victory.
