For over 30 years, it was the summer dwelling of Alberto Sordi, whom bought it in 1962 to re-sell it in 1997. This is one of the most beautiful villas on the Castiglioncello coast in Tuscany, a paradise overlooking over the sea with a main building of 9700 sqft, plus 6500 sqft of lodge terrace, besides two outbuildings, and a park of 43,000 sqft (http://www.lionard.com/villa-in-italy-property-italy-coast.html).

Built in the eighteen hundreds by the baron patron (to whom Castiglioncello owes the Pasquini castle) for the painter Vittorio Corcos, Sordi bought it from the artistโ€™s daughter in 1962, and sold it to an Italian entrepreneur few years before his dead (occurred in 2003). In the early 2000โ€™s, the owners did a well-finished conservative restoration resulting intact the study room of the actor with his portrait and that of the painter Corcos, the desk, some personal items and photographs of Sordi in several moments of his long-lasting career.

Sordi didnโ€™t have a worldly life and rarely left his villa, unlike other actors and film directors of the Golden Age of Italian cinema, whom like him had chosen Castiglioncello as a good retirement spot: from Marcello Mastroianni to Vittorio Gassman, Suso Cecchi Dโ€™Amico, Paolo Panelli e Bice Valori, and many others.

In Castiglioncello, Dino Risi filmed his masterpiece movie, Il Sorpasso, along with Vittorio Gassman and Jean Louis Trintignant in 1962, which originally was supposed to be played precisely by Alberto Sordi. It was Gassman to exactly convince Risi of choosing Castiglioncello, where he usually spent vacation with his family, as the location for the film. Also, a young Sofia Loren shot one of her first movies in Castiglioncello in 1953, Pellegrini dโ€™Amore, of film director Andrea Forzano.

Now, Alberto Sordiโ€™s dwelling is again on the market: the price is around 15 million Euros, explains the Real Estate company that negotiates it, Lionard Luxury Real Estate (http://www.lionard.com/), founded in 2008 by a Florentine entrepreneur, Dimitri Corti. Other important villas are on sale or have been sold recently in Castiglioncello: โ€œA month ago, we sold Villa Pontelloโ€ โ€“ explains Dimitri Corti โ€“ โ€œand last year Villa ex Meschi, tooโ€. The first villa was built in the 70โ€™s by the Count Flavio Callisto Pontello, founder and president for many years of the Italian football club โ€œLa Fiorentinaโ€ and the second was built by Luciano Meschi, the typographer from Livorno who made fortunes printing forms of telephone bills.
