The Dominican Republic and Brazil will join efforts to reposition Puerto Plata province as an iconic tourist destination.
Puerto Plata has been a popular tourist attraction the Dominican Republic since the late 1990s. It is known for its beautiful beaches.
Saturday, a delegation from Brazil and the Dominican Republic unveiled in the Loma Isabel de Torres, a plaque to register the correspondence between the monuments Puerto Plataโs Cristo and Rio de Janeiroโs El Corcovado.
This activity forms part of the provinceโs recent efforts to restore its image as an international tourism destination, not only for sun and sand, but also for eco-tourism and cultural travel highlights
The event should have an impact on Puerto Plataโs economy, tourism and culture. It was headed by Brazil Ambassador Josรฉ Marcus Vinicius de Sousa, Province Governor Eridania Llibre, Diocese Bishop Julio Cรฉsar Corniel, Tourism Ministry officials, and other personalities.
