LAS VEGAS, NV – Hotels in Las Vegas are the worst rated in the United States according to a recent survey The online travel magazine compared 30 main US destinations based on the reviews their hotels have received over the past 12 months.

Specifically, the survey encompasses all 3- and 4-star hotel ratings posted by guests after their stay on the hotel booking site Expedia. TravelMag.com then categorized these 1-star (worst) to 5-star (best) ratings into positive (4 or 5), neutral (3) or negative (1 or 2).

In Las Vegas, only 48% of 3-star hotel reviews have been positive this past year. Meanwhile 25% of Sin City guests have been disappointed with their hotel. The remaining 27% of overnight visitors gave their stay a neutral review. Although 4-star hotels were better evaluated (69% positive / 19% negative / 13% neutral), Vegas hotels in general have achieved, on average, the worst evaluations among all 30 destinations analyzed by the survey.

On the other hand, hotels in Philadelphia have earned the best average ratings, with 71% of all 3-star and 83% of all 4-star hotels being evaluated as positive by their guests over the past 12 months. Among the other destinations on the survey receiving top hotel reviews are Portland, Seattle, Chicago and Charlotte.
