WASHINGTON, DC (August 28, 2008) – The Air Transport Association of America (ATA), the industry trade organization for the leading US airlines, today commented on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Dispute Resolution Acquisition (ODRA) action to grant ATA’s request for the suspension of the Newark Slot Auction:

“We are pleased that the FAA Office of Dispute Resolution Acquisition has granted our request for suspension of the September 3 auction of two slots at Newark airport and fully expect that the process will result in a determination that FAA lacks the legal authority to conduct the auction.”

ATA airline members and their affiliates transport more than 90 percent of all US airline passenger and cargo traffic.
