New low-price scholarships announced for 1st Green Growth & Travelism Summer School: August 25-29, 2014.

The future demands a new way of doing business. Next year, world leaders will agree new frameworks for Climate Response and Sustainable Development. This Summer School in the beautiful province of Limburg in Belgium will help travel and tourism managers and graduates prepare to operate under a new norm.

How to understand the impacts and take advantage of the opportunities? What are the greatest threats and where are they most likely to hit? What scenarios can we envision and how can we model them? Where are our transport and hospitality systems most vulnerable and what are the low carbon options? What steps can be taken now to prepare? Which new financing mechanisms will be available?

These are the kind of new reality issues we will consider in a series of interactive discussions with leading experts from government, industry and academia. Goldman Award winner Ignace Schops, Director of Belgiumโ€™s National Park and an Al Gore Leadership fellow, along with Professor Geoffrey Lipman who played a leading role in WTTC and UNWTO Sustainability and Climate initiatives will be the Course Directors. Professor Geert Wets, Head of the renowned Hasselt University Transportation Research Institute will lead discussions on sustainable transport options. With site visits to the National Park and EU Headquarters, this will be a practical learning and engagement experience.
