A group of tourists from Nonthaburi Province have traveled to Wat Rong Khun that has recently been hit by the Chiang Rai quake.

The group, the first batch of visitors after the earthquake, came to take pictures and admire the templeโ€™s beautiful architecture, which was designed by national artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. Together, they also gave moral support to Mr. Chalermchai so that he could rebuild the temple. However, they were only allowed to walk around the temple and prohibited from entering the main buildings for safety reasons.

Meanwhile, the templeโ€™s authorities are thoroughly inspecting the buildingโ€™s infrastructure and repairing mural paintings that have been affected by the earthquake. In addition, they have also deployed a few tractors to dismantle the fractured ceiling tiles in the Art Gallery.

Wat Rong Khun is a temple that has garnered attention from both Thais and foreigners due to its spectacular architectural design. The temple used to receive as many as 100,000 visitors per day during important holiday periods such as the New Year and the Songkran Festival.
