Japan Airlines (JAL) further expanded its codeshare cooperation with Jetstar Airways (JQ), Cathay Pacific Airways (CX) and Malaysia Airlines (MH) respectively between Tokyo (Narita) and Melbourne (operated by JQ), between Hong Kong and Perth (operated by CX), as well as between Kuala Lumpur and Perth, and between Kuala Lumpur and Darwin (operated by MH).

Currently, JAL operates seven routes between Japan and Australia, including codeshare flights. With the addition of Narita – Melbourne, Hong Kong – Perth, Kuala Lumpur – Perth, Kuala Lumpur – Darwin, flights between Japan and Australia will be increased to 11 routes.

JAL has also expanded codeshare cooperation with Qantas Airways (QF) on flights between Sydney and Auckland from March 2014. Together with the comprehensive networks of its partner airlines Jetstar Airways, Cathay Pacific Airways, Malaysia Airlines, and Qantas Airways, JAL strives to bring more convenience and benefits to the customers traveling between Japan and Oceania.
