Peru back in Seoul to attract Korean investors

SEOUL, South Korea – The Lotte Hotel in Seoul today hosted Peru’s PROINVERSION Roadshow, the second leg of the Asian tour 2014, which was celebrated in the way of an investor’s breakfast.

SEOUL, South Korea – The Lotte Hotel in Seoul today hosted Peru’s PROINVERSION Roadshow, the second leg of the Asian tour 2014, which was celebrated in the way of an investor’s breakfast. It was attended by companies and investors from South Korea, interested in the infrastructure investment opportunities in the Peruvian market.

More than 80 professionals, representing around 30 Korean companies were present, amongst which were Samsung, Hyundai Rotem, GS, Daewoo, the Korean Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), the Korean Expressway Corporation or Posco, amongst others.

The delegation is led by the Director of investment projects of ProInversion, Carlos Herrera who said “the 22 per cent of our GDP comes from private investment. We would also like to increase and expand the origin of the companies investing in Peru and this is why we would love to count with more Korean investment”.

The Ambassador of Peru in Korea, Jaime Pomareda, opened the session and expressed his condolences on behalf of the Peruvians for the sinking of the Sewol ferry and the tragic news for many South Koreans.

The Proinversion Asian Roadshow began on Monday in China, today it visited South Korea and it will finalize on Friday with an event in Japan. Las month Proinversion organised a roadshow in both Australia and New Zealand, and next month there will be another one in London and Manchester.
