Flyme, a domestic airline based in the Maldives and operated by Villa Air, is launching its first seaplane operation in May.

The aircraft to be used is an amphibious Cessna Caravan C208, with unique livery in the form of a Whale Shark. Different from the other aircraft used in the Maldives for transfers, the Flyme SEEPLANE will be used for excursions, sight-seeing and non-transfer related activities. The final artwork was designed by renowned American aircraft artist John Stahr.
The SEEPLANE is air-conditioned, has leather seats as well as large windows to capture that perfect photo. This is a unique opportunity for tourists to experience the real value of a seaplane flight.

Operated by 2 pilots assisted by a cabin crew/tour guide, the SEEPLANE seats 7 passengers and the duration of flights will be 20 minutes, but longer flights can be pre-arranged.

The SEEPLANE will initially be based at Villa International Airport Maamigili, with platforms in locations around the South Ari Atoll, serving the resorts in the area. After the initial test period flights will also be offered in other main tourist areas like Baa Atoll, Ghaafu Dhaalu Atoll and Ghaafu Alifu Atoll. Additional aircraft will be added to fleet in due course.

The SEEPLANE also supports the main Flyme operation in providing a total solution to visitors.
Tourist bookings will be handled by the respective resorts, but a special introductory offer will be available to all non-resort related passengers.
