Delta has completed the first stage of its co-location to London Heathrow Terminal 3 – the home of joint venture partner Virgin Atlantic Airways.

Delta has completed the first stage of its co-location to London Heathrow Terminal 3 – the home of joint venture partner Virgin Atlantic Airways. Effective April 2, Delta’s flights to New York-JFK, Boston and Seattle now operate from Terminal 3 as the two airlines create a seamless customer experience whether flying with Virgin Atlantic or Delta.

The move coincides with the start of the airlines’ aligned summer schedules that offer customers more choice and flexibility while reducing onward transit times. This includes flights on the key London-New York route, which now total nine a day. From Heathrow to JFK there are seven daily flights including two late afternoon and early evening departures. From JFK, there are departures every 30 minutes during the early evening peak and then hourly until 22:30. This is complemented by two daily flights between London Heathrow and New York’s Newark airport.

“From the outset of our partnership with Virgin Atlantic we have been committed to putting the customer first and creating more competition on trans-Atlantic routes,” said Ed Bastian, Delta’s president. “The co-location of our key business flights at Heathrow is another step in delivering against these commitments. Together we are offering new routes and more flights this summer and making a real difference for customers.”
Business class passengers travelling from T3 will have access to Virgin Atlantic’s award- winning Clubhouse. Delta and Virgin’s combined fleet is the only alliance to guarantee a fully flat-bed seat for all customers in the premium cabin flying across the Atlantic.
