The number of visitors packed into the halls at this year’s Aircraft Interiors Expo, has delivered an engaging and productive show for those in attendance. “It has been a good show”, said Jon Norris Vice President of Sales at Lumexis. “There seems to be strong and interested traffic even today, the last day of the show”. His thoughts were echoed by exhibitors across the show floor at the Hamburg Messe as Aircraft Interiors Expo 2014 comes to a close.

According to James Brady at Flightweight, a company exhibiting for the first time: “The show this year has been very good, stronger than we were expecting. We have seen a lot of traffic and we have been really pleased with the access we have had to big players”. This year the company launched SmartCart; a revolutionary food and duty-free cart with an innovative ability to monitor and manage a range of factors, from access and location to internal temperature.

Flightweight was one of a number of companies introducing innovative new products at this year’s show, which also witnessed a significant amount of new commercial agreements; cementing the event’s reputation as a unique networking environment for the aircraft interior sector. Italian interiors stylist Iacobucci HF unveiled its Venezia first-class suite, Roma business-class double seat and SINTESIS – a new lightweight trolley line specifically designed to meet airlines’ requirement for a resistant and lightweight trolley. Thales broadened its connectivity onboard offering following its appointment as a value-added reseller by Inmarsat for its GX aviation product. Meanwhile Romtex Anjou Aeronautique launched a range of multi-coloured belts and buckles in addition to a new lightweight belt.

“We have had a very fruitful and productive few days… I think it is a very good show”, said Corinne Cellier-Beaudouin at JCB Aero. “Hamburg is well represented by both airline and VIP stakeholders, which is important for us, and quite unique for a trade show”.

This year, in response to market trends, the event enlarged its dedicated In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) zone by 10%. Panasonic released a number of new products including; the world’s first onboard all-digital headset system which delivers High-Definition audio and a new ancillary revenue opportunity in the form of AdConnect. Meanwhile connectivity provider OnAir publicised a swathe of customer announcements including companies such as Saudia, TAAG Angola Airlines and Sri Lanka Airlines.

“I am absolutely thrilled that our exhibitors have had such a good show”, said Event Director Katie Murphy. “Every year Reed Exhibitions strives to improve Aircraft Interiors Expo by taking into account exhibitor feedback. However it is the wealth of innovation from our growing base of diverse exhibitors which is set to ensure the show’s success in the future”.

Aircraft Interiors Expo 2015 will take place at the Hamburg Messe from 14 – 16 April
