Davao hotels and tourism facilities launch biggest sale event ever

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Luxury and prime hotels here announced big discounts in room rates of as high as 75 percent. Other tourism facilities like shopping malls and restaurants followed suit to join the monthlong sale event mimicking that of Singapore.

The event runs from from March 14 to April 16 this year.

The Grand Regal Hotel, which has hosted several national conventions, said it was bringing down room rates to as much as 65 percent, and the luxury Marco Polo Hotel said it was slashing rates by 75 percent.

The Park Inn by Radisson told a launching event of the Davao Big Fun Sale on Friday that it would cut down room rates by 30 percent in addition to discounted rates on food and beverages by 20 percent.

The Seda Hotel said food and drinks would be offered at 15-percent discounts for the duration of the fun-sale event.

The event would center on the shopping malls, however, with discounts as much as 80 percent.

On March 14 Davaoโ€™s top-ranking executives graced the launching rites at the Rizal Park and later met the members of the media at the Grand Menseng Hotel.

The sale event was timed with the commemoration of the 77th Araw ng Dabaw starting over the weekend.
