HONG KONG – Hong Kong Airlines announces the launch of its new and extraordinary aviation experience programme, Hong Kong Airlines “Triumph Sky High” Junior Program, at the Hong Kong International Air

HONG KONG – Hong Kong Airlines announces the launch of its new and extraordinary aviation experience programme, Hong Kong Airlines “Triumph Sky High” Junior Program, at the Hong Kong International Airport today. The program aims to enhance Hong Kong students aviation knowledge as well as cultivate their interest in the industry. Mr. Ron Ng is invited to be the ambassador of the Program and has attended todayโ€™s event. 40 students and teachers from Ying Wa Primary School have been invited to go to the airport and experience an aircraft cockpit for the very first time.

โ€œA job in the aviation industry may well be the dream job for many youngsters. As a Hong Kong based airline company, Hong Kong Airlines takes responsibility for nurturing aviation talent and helping them to fly high and to reach their dreams through a series of aviation activities,” said Mr. Sun Jianfeng, Vice President of Hong Kong Airlines. He also said that Hong Kong Airlines will devote more resources and cooperate with the schools in the future, in order to inspire potential aviation talents and attract more young people to join the industry.

Mrs. Maria Lam Woon Sum, Principal of Ying Wa Primary School said, โ€œWe are delighted to be the first school joining this aviation experience program. Our school has the tradition of setting a theme to enhance studentsโ€™ interest in learning every year. This year, our think tank decided to use aviation as the theme, as Ying Wa Primary School is a boys’ school and boys are usually more interested in aviation and machinery. Due to watching an aviation related TV drama last year and the lyrics of Mr. Cheng Kwok Kong, students are getting encouraged to devote themselves to the industry. Through this experience program, students can understand more about the operation of different positions. This is a chance of a lifetime for them, and I wish we can join the activities of Hong Kong Airlines more in the future.โ€ Despite some of the students from primary 5 and 6 already having had the experience of riding in a plane, they were still so excited about seeing the aircraft cockpit that they even did some research online before and grabbed the opportunity to ask the captain questions.

During the event, Hong Kong Airlines staff led the students from Ying Wa Primary School to experience their new and extraordinary aviation program. To develop an interest in aviation as well as have an overall understanding about the work in different departments, students are given the chance to visit the Hong Kong Airlines catering services station and learn about the in-flight catering services, experience ground service to observe their daily operation, get into the aircraft cockpit, learn about cabin services and aircraft maintenance repair. Hong Kong Airlines will continue to organize the related program for all primary and secondary schools in Hong Kong.
