NELSON LAKES NATIONAL PARK, New Zealand – The search for missing German tramper Christian Prehn has been unable to resume today due to bad weather.

The 19-year-old went missing in the Nelson Lakes National Park last week and hasn’t been seen since.

The teenager’s tramping pack was found beside the track on the Travers Saddle on Friday and teams have been searching the area since.

But bad weather means search teams are will have to hold off until at least tomorrow.

Meanwhile police are still hoping to speak to anyone who has had contact with Mr Prehn, and in particular a German woman called Angela Bรคhr who is believed to have spoken with the man at one of the huts.

Anyone with further information is urged to contact Nelson Police.
