LANAI, Hawaii – Just moments after taking off from Lanai Airport Wednesday night, February 26, a small plane crashed at approximately 9:30 pm. The crash occurred around a mile southwest of the airport.

Three people were killed at the scene, and three people were taken to a hospital – two were critically injured and one was in serious condition. Identities of the people have not yet been released.
