Tymoshenko said: “I want to say to Ukrainians that they are the bravest and best people in the world. They were able to stop a dictatorship, they have opened Ukraine’s path to democracy, to freedom and to Europe.
“I thank them all – they are my heroes.”

The US White House released a statement: The US welcomes release from prison of former Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymoshenko.

“We have consistently advocated a de-escalation of violence, constitutional change, a coalition government, and early elections, and today’s developments could move us closer to that goal.”

In the meantime Russian TV RT reports the anti-government protests in Kievโ€™s central Independence Square are continuing with barricades and tents still in place following the agreement signed by President Viktor Yanukovich and the opposition, which is aimed at resolving the political crisis.

A little later tourists and protesters visited the now empty presidential office and buildings in Kiev.
Rumors say the president is near Kharkov, what is the second-largest city of Ukraine.

Located in the north-east of the country, it is the largest city of the Slobozhanshchyna historical region of Eastern Ukraine and may very be the capital of a possible divided Ukrainian Federation.

Ironically the former Ukrainian PM Yulia Tymoshenko was jailed in Kharkov and flown to Kiev today. She demanded in her speech at the Independent Square in Kiev to bring the current escaped president back to Kiev and face the protesters

New elections set by parliament for 25 May.

Leaders of mainly Russian-speaking regions in east Ukraine say they are taking control of their territories until “constitutional order” is restored in Kiev.

82 people were killed in Kiev during the protests. This was released by the Ukrainian ministry of health.

Other rumors say president Viktor Yanukovich may have flown to the United Arab Emirates to seek political asylum.

RT now reports Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich has called the latest developments in the country a coup dโ€™etat, denying speculations of his resignation. He also accused international mediators of not fulfilling their obligations. At the same time rumors added to the speculation the president may have been talking from Russia.

Another report came in with an alleged eyewitness report from a Ukraine Immigration Officer in Donetsk, Ukraine. He said the president was trying to board an aircraft to Russia but was stopped by immigration. He did not have a permit necessary to leave the country. He allegedly was seen driving away from Donetsk airport.
