Kent County is a county in the U.S. state of Michigan. It is part of the Grand Rapids–Wyoming Metropolitan Statistical Area. Grand Rapids is the county seat. As of the 2010 census, the county had a population of 602,622.

t was cold and rainy in Kent County Jan. 11 and 12, but that didn’t stop a dozen new customers with Good Libations Tour passports in hand from visiting the Painted Stave Distilling, Kent County’s new craft distillery.

Just three days before, the Mid-Atlantic Region was flooded with thousands of Good Libations Tour passport holders, from Dover to Baltimore, Md., and Washington, D.C., as part of a soft opening of the new tour, aimed at bringing visitors to Delaware’s Capital Region. Within two days, Kent County Tourism had also been contacted by a Baltimore-based tour operator wanting information to plan a Good Libations Tour packaged with a visit to the Air Mobility Command Museum.

“We are pleasantly surprised at the response starting right out of the gate,” said Cindy Small, executive director of Kent County Tourism, the organization that also produces the annual Delaware Wine and Beer Festival in October. “The goal was to develop a unique new brand that promotes Kent County as a great place for handcrafted wine, beer and spirits; generate overnight visitation; and give our special events and wineries, breweries and distillery some additional exposure.”
