BANGKOK, Thailand – Centara Grand Phratamnak Pattaya celebrated its opening with a glamorous party, held in the hotel’s elegant lobby, and with Admiral Chainarong Charoenrak, Chief Executive Staff Officer to the Commander, and Vice Admiral Ruengrit Boonsongprasert, Commander of the Sattahip Naval Base, as guests of honor.

The five-star hotel, which is located in Pattaya’s exclusive district of Phratamnak Hill, just a few steps from the beach, had welcomed its first guests on 15 October.

Designed to complement the luxurious ambience of the neighborhood, the hotel is built around an atrium with the guestroom levels and rooftop serviced by glass elevators.

The ground floor takes as its theme an underwater world, with two big aquariums, one themed as a predator tank with black-tip sharks, stingrays and groupers, and the other styled as a coral reef with exotic species such as angel fish and butterfly fish.

Granite and Italian marble are used to clad the interiors, and all furniture in the hotel lobby is imported, including a wide range of items from the renowned furniture maker Fendi Casa.

There are two wings to the building, with one opening during this phase and featuring 113 deluxe rooms, family residences and premium deluxe suites, many with stunning ocean views, and the second wing due to open in the first half of next year.

The family-friendly hotel when complete will feature 165 guestrooms and suites, each with a private balcony. All rooms feature Jim Thompson decorative pillowcases, Harnn bathroom amenities, and have Nespresso coffee machines and premium tea selections, LED flat-screen TV with DVD player, and free Wi-Fi.

On the rooftop level of this eight-story hotel, with superb views of the bay, is Ruffino Restaurant & Lounge, the first restaurant in Asia branded by the famed Italian wine house of Ruffino. This signature restaurant serves traditional and contemporary cuisine from the coast of Italy, and along with its selection of Ruffino wines offers a wide choice of quality world wines.

The roof of the hotel also features a pool, a lounge and fitness center.

This first phase of the hotel features the all-day-dining restaurant Oceana, and French bakery Espresso, which alongside fresh bread, cakes, and snacks and serves the world-famous Illy coffee.
