(eTN) – Forestry Tasmania claims its new tourist attraction in Northern Tasmania will be the best flying fox of its kind in the world.

Yesterday the Premier, Paul Lennon officially launched the Hollybank’s Treetop adventure, a 730 metre, tree top tour, just north of Launceston.

It has been built at a cost of $850,000.

Forestry Tasmania’s managing director, Bob Gordon says he expects the project to attract up to 30,000 tourists each year.

“There are other ventures like this in South Africa in the Caribbean but this will be by far the best, the longest and the most exhilarating people can go on,” Mr Gordon said.

“This is a first not only for Hollybank in Tasmania but for Australia and we believe it will be the best type of adventure of this sort in the world,” he said.
