MOSCOW, Russia – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MID) of the Russian Federation recommended to the citizens of the Russian Federation to refrain from visiting the capital of Thailand, due to continuing opposition actions.

According to the Ministry, the possibility of a further deterioration of the situation in Bangkok cannot be ruled out. “The Thai authorities made the decision to impose special security regime in Bangkok and individual areas adjacent to Nonthaburi Province, Samut Prakan and Pathum Thani. In this regard, we recommend that the Russian citizens avoid visiting Bangkok, and, for those who are already in the Thai capital, be careful to comply with the requirements of the forces of law and order and avoid places where large numbers of people gather,” says the warning issued by the Ministry.

In addition, the Ministry warned that the blockade of major roads by local authorities is possible, so the tourists, who intend to depart from the capital’s airport, should organize their departures in advance.
