BAGHDAD, Iraq – A $15 million tourist resort has opened in central al-Hilla, the Babil Investment Commission (BIC) said on Thursday.

BAGHDAD, Iraq – A $15 million tourist resort has opened in central al-Hilla, the Babil Investment Commission (BIC) said on Thursday.

“The Babil tourist resort is among the tourist and recreational projects implemented in the province by way of local investments,” BIC chairman Jawad Abdul Kadhim said during the inauguration ceremony.

The resort features a modern amusement park, gardens, a series of luxury restaurants, water fountains and various lodging facilities, he said.

The project, undertaken by an Iraqi investor, will have a positive effect on the community, he said, by providing families with amusement, boosting the economic sector and creating jobs.
