Hawaii Tourism Conference opens at Waikiki Convention Center

The Hawaii Tourism Conference launched today, Tuesday, September 27, at the Waikiki Convention Center. Showing up in full force was the eTurboNews team, ready to greet attendees at its stand.

Starting off the day bright and early was a Tai Chi session held on the roof top with Tai Chi Master Ren Guangyi, Hawaii’s China Health and Wellness Ambassador.

Cultural performances then welcomed attendees before Hawaii Tourism Authority’s CEO George Szigeti opened the conference and set the tone for the week as images by renowned photographer and authori, Steve Uzzell, took those watching on a journey through Hawaii, showcasing the uniqueness of the islands.

A variety of sessions then followed on culture, education, environment, visitor experience, and technology. Then at around mid-day, the 2016 Tourism Legacy Awards were held during a luncheon honoring Hawaii’s Gifts to the World, this year, with the focus on surfing.

Ongoing now are One-on-One Networking Rounds which filled up quickly.

Day one will end with an unveiling and blessing of the Hawaii Convention Center’s Hawaiian Cultural Art Exhibit, along with a special screening of the critically-acclaimed Sons of Halawa at the Outrigger Reef Waikiki.
