JetBlue and Cape Air announce codeshare agreement

NEW YORK, NY – JetBlue today announced it is expanding its existing partnership with Cape Air with a unilateral codeshare agreement.

NEW YORK, NY – JetBlue today announced it is expanding its existing partnership with Cape Air with a unilateral codeshare agreement. JetBlue will place its “B6” code on Cape Air flights between JetBlue’s focus cities in Boston (BOS) and San Juan (SJU) and Cape Air destinations throughout the northeast and Caribbean. From both cities, Cape Air operates flights to two dozen destinations.

JetBlue and Cape Air customers purchasing a codeshare itinerary will benefit from having a single ticket that includes flights operated by both carriers, as well as conveniences on their day of travel like one-stop check-in and baggage transfer.

“No matter how big or small our customers’ hometown or destination may be, they can be sure JetBlue and Cape Air will make booking a ticket and traveling more convenient than ever before,” said Robin Hayes, president and CEO, JetBlue. “And as we mark a decade of working with Cape Air, we couldn’t be more pleased to strengthen this important relationship with our original airline partner.”

JetBlue’s codeshare with Cape Air expands a partnership that was first formed in 2007 – the very first airline agreement for JetBlue. Cape Air is recognized for its outstanding customer service and, with convenient hourly flights to many markets, it serves some of the most beautiful boutique destinations in the northeast and Caribbean such as Bar Harbor, Maine; Provincetown, Mass.; Vieques, Puerto Rico and Tortola, British Virgin Islands.

“Over the last ten years, we have been incredibly fortunate to partner with JetBlue on a variety of initiatives, including the University Gateway Program and interline ticketing,” said Cape Air President Linda Markham. “The new codeshare agreement further solidifies our shared commitment to offering an expanded network and a seamless travel experience for our customers.”

Starting today, the JetBlue code is offered on routes Cape Air operates from Boston Logan International Airport and San Juan’s Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport.
