BAHRAIN – Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) has announced today the full acquisition of HOCHTIEF Facility Management Bahrain (HTFMBA) and the buyout of the 50% shares in the joint venture. The 50% stake will add to BACโ€™s existing 50% of the joint venture to make this a 100% Bahraini Company fully owned by BAC.

The acquisition aims to ensure efficiency of airportโ€™s operations and maintain the quality of facilities. HOCHTIEF Facility Management Bahrain Airport (HTFMBA) name was changed to BAC Facility Management.

Mohamed Yousif Al Binfalah, Chief Executive Officer of BAC, explained that todayโ€™s announcement comes after HOCHTIEF Services Solutions has been put for sale internationally as a result of a restructuring exercise the company has been undertaking. He also added: โ€œWe closely monitor the market trends and opportunities that enable us in fulfilling our commitment to service excellence. In keeping with our mission to enhance the airportโ€™s capabilities and diversify itsโ€™ revenue streams, we envision valuable business potential following the full acquisition of HOCHTIEF Facility Management Bahrain Airport.โ€

Mr. Al Binfalah confirmed this move will not impact the operations and business will run as usual. Effective from today, the company will commence operations under the new identify and name โ€œBAC Facilities Management W.L.Lโ€

Since appointed in 2010 by BAC to manage the airportโ€™s facilities, HOCHTIEF Facility Management Bahrain Airport provided itsโ€™ services for the airport terminal building, apron, fire building, hangers, cargo halls, and administration buildings.

Note to mention, BAC is the company responsible for operating and managing Bahrain International Airport as a friendly and efficient airport. As part of its operator role, BAC is responsible for elevating the airportโ€™s infrastructure and services. This set to improve the Kingdomโ€˜s aviation capabilities; and to cater for the growing number of passengers as well as the changing demands of the airportโ€™s stakeholders.
