MORRO BAY, CA – There’s a lot of pure unadulterated cuteness going on in Morro Bay and they are called Sea Otters!

MORRO BAY, CA – There’s a lot of pure unadulterated cuteness going on in Morro Bay and they are called Sea Otters! Catch a glimpse of these sea creatures in their natural habitat this September in the quaint town of Morro Bay and celebrate the 14th Annual National Sea Otter Awareness Week, September 18-24, 2016.

Otters are easy to find and close enough for a good look, just plop down a beach chair along the Morro Bay Harbor Walk that runs along Coleman Drive and start watching. Target Rock area located on the southeast side of Morro Rock is probably the best landmark to work from according to Eric Endersby, the Morro Bay Harbor Director. Mother’s or Coleman beach is another great location at the intersection of Embarcadero and Coleman Drive.

There are also safe viewing spots all along the Embarcadero in between the many restaurants, shops and wine bars where there are spots open to the public for viewing the wildlife. Or you can rent a kayak at Kayak Horizons and the Kayak Shack and paddle out to view Sea Otters and Sea Lions or rent a boat at Bay Cruisers and Electric Boats, or take a ride on the Lost Isle Tiki boat.

California Wine Month

Say cheers to California wine at Morro Bay hot spots like Chateau Margene, Cuatro Dias Wine Testing Room, Morro Bay Wine Seller, and STAX Wine Bar & Bistro.
