Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has chosen AVIAREPS as its representative in Belgium and Luxembourg.

Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, has chosen AVIAREPS as its representative in Belgium and Luxembourg. Up to this point, the world’s leading airline and tourism representative has been contracted as General Sales Agent (GSA) of the carrier representing it in Switzerland and the Czech Republic. With immediate effect, the Belgian AVIAREPS subsidiary located in Diegem will handle the sales, marketing and ticketing activities on behalf of Gulf Air. AVIAREPS’ sales manager Joris Cruysberghs is responsible for all operations carried out in both the Belgian and Luxembourg markets.

For European passengers, Gulf Air operates a total of 35 direct flights per week from Frankfurt (Germany), Paris (France) and London Heathrow (UK) to Bahrain in the Persian Gulf. Through its cooperation with 15 partner airlines, the well-respected carrier offers a wide variety of convenient connections to over 40 destinations worldwide. Over the next five years Gulf Air is planning to re-fleet itself to further strengthen its presence. It recently signed a deal worth nearly US $6 billion with Boeing Co. to purchase up to 24 Boeing 787 aircraft and another deal with Airbus for 35 aircraft, including A320s and A330s.

“Europe is an important market for us, and to enhance our presence we needed a company with a proven track record,” explained Ahmed Ali Hajee, Gulf Air’s general manager Offline Markets. “We wanted to continue the expansion of our cooperation with AVIAREPS because of the effective methods they use in selling our services and raising our brand awareness. So it was logical that we chose them for our Belgian and Luxembourg representation.”
