A 27-year-old Swiss citizen attacked a train Saturday afternoon on route in St. Gallen, a known Swiss resort region.
He threw a burning liquid at passengers and started stabbing.
Swiss media reports that seven train passengers were injured, one life threatening. The injured includes the suspect.
Broadcaster SRF says the other victims are two men ages 17 and 50, three women ages 17, 34, and 43, and a 6-year-old child.
The attack was reported around 2:20 pm, shortly before the station of Salez, on route between Buchs and Sennwald on the St. Galler Rheintal train.
Local police responded in full force, including three rescue helicopters, two physicians, and three ambulances, as well as transportation officials.
