Inferno! 10,000 evacuated in sleepy tourist town Vitrolles, France


Vitrolles is a charming little French tourist region, and it is turning into a burning inferno.

Local authorities are currently evacuating 10,000 people from the region after a forest fire burned about 1,800 acres.

Yet many people do not know Vitrolles only through a famous brand of Swedish design. The cultural and natural heritage of this town of about 36,000 inhabitants, situated on the seafront of the Pays d’Aix, is nevertheless very real.
