Photos posted to twitter show some extensive damage. The photo published on eTN shows the inside of a New Zealand home after according to the US Geological Survey, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake has been recorded south of New Zealand’s capital Wellington.

No injures or major damage have been reported so far and the Pacific Tsunami Warning Centre says there is no immediate tsunami threat.
