FRANKFURT, Germany – Whether passengers traveling have time on their hands or urgent needs to be met, Frankfurt Airport provides an extensive range of services for ensuring a pleasant and entertaining travel experience. Today a new installment of a humorous video campaign was launched to call attention to them. The campaign resumes the saga of a remarkable guest who investigates the latest new developments on behalf of the millions of travelers from all over the world who pass through the airport. Having flown to Frankfurt from a distant planet, he is pleasantly surprised by the airportโ€™s many amenities and outstanding services and facilities.

Frankfurt Airport first welcomed this passenger from outer space back in December 2015, when he touched down on the apron and morphed from an aircraft into the โ€œFRAbotโ€. He then proceeded to meet the call of nature, like many other passengers after landing in Frankfurt. The airport is currently investing to modernize and upgrade its sanitary facilities, among other things. The video showing his spectacular arrival went viral; it has already been viewed over 5.3 million times on YouTube.

โ€œOur aim is to acquaint our passengers and fans with what Frankfurt Airport has to offer, while taking a surprising and entertaining approach,โ€ explains Mike Peter Schweitzer, who heads the Media Relations department at Fraport, the airportโ€™s operator. โ€œTo attract as much attention as possible, weโ€™re continuing this tongue-in-cheek campaign about the exploits of our well-known intergalactic hero, while initially keeping ourselves in the background. And with amazing success! More episodes will follow.โ€

In the first clip, our special guest is relaxing from his long journey in one of Frankfurt Airportโ€™s free yoga rooms.

Thomas Kirner from Fraportโ€™s Service Quality department adds that โ€œduring the weeks ahead our versatile robot will check out the world of experiences that passengers access while spending time at the airport. In four more clips, the FRAbot will test the quality of the services at Germanyโ€™s largest aviation hub and explore ways to make the time they spend here even more interesting and entertaining.โ€ The robotโ€™s many fans can look forward to astonishingly different, creative glimpses of the airport. Nor is that all: they are also invited to join a search for a new name for this extraordinary visitor (starting on July 7, 2016 on Facebook).

The idea behind this exciting campaign was developed and brought to life with incredible skill and technical sophistication by โ€œTobi & Tronโ€, a creative video postproduction agency in Frankfurt founded by Tobias Becker and Steffen Tron.

As expressed by the new slogan โ€œGute Reise! We make it happenโ€, the Frankfurt Airport company is now focusing even more strongly on meeting the needs of customers. Fraport is constantly striving to improve the customer experience and quality of service at Germanyโ€™s largest airport and respond more sensitively to travelersโ€™ wishes and expectations. Other examples include free Wi-Fi for everyone, the Frankfurt Airport App, and Comfort Services that passengers can use to get to and from flights in style.
