Miss Seychelles and her two princesses were being accompanied by their parents for a meeting with the country’s Tourism Minister that was also being attended by Sherin Naiken, the CEO of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Gretel Banane from the Events Department of the Tourism Board.

Miss Seychelles 2016, Christine Barbier, accompanied by her 1st and 2nd Princesses, Lianne Barbe and Samiya Albert, were received by Minister Alain St.Ange, the Seychelles Minister responsible for Tourism and Culture, at the Ministry’s ESPACE Offices in Victoria.

“I congratulate you, Miss Seychelles, for winning the crown, as I congratulate both your first and second princesses. By participating in this beauty with a purpose pageant, you have done yourselves proud and you have made your parents proud,” Minister St.Ange told Miss Seychelles in the presence of her princesses and the parents gathered at the ESPACE Building.

The Minister also told the 2016 title holders not to be perturbed by the negative comments by some on social media when he assured them that the Tourism Board will ensure that their year as title holders is full of activities that will raise their profile. “We shall open doors for you, and we wish you success and all the satisfaction that comes with it. Remain yourselves and remember each and every one of you that you are first and foremost a Seychellois proudly living and working for your Seychelles,” Minister St.Ange said.
