In celebration of the culinary arts, Sofitel So Bangkok has revealed the chef line-up for the second annual So Amazing Chefs 2013. The event, which will be staged from September 25th to 28th, will bring together nine high profile chefs from around the world under one roof to take gourmands on an enlightening gastronomic journey.

โ€œThe feedback we received from last year’s inaugural event was overwhelming, and we’re delighted to organize the second So Amazing Chefs. Not only does the event reflect the Sofitel commitment to gastronomy, but it really is just a wonderful reason for us to get together, exchange ideas, and of course showcase the immense talents of the participating chefs. As with last year, we will again be hosting a culinary showdown with proceeds going to charity, and I hope our guests will take advantage of the rare opportunities to get up close and personal with these well known culinary artists,โ€ says Gilles Cretallaz, General Manager of Sofitel So Bangkok.

The four-day epicurean showcase promises something for everyone, including two-hour cooking classes given by world renowned chefs, themed seven-course degustation dinners, and a wine night featuring a four-course set menu curated by master sommeliers and paired with exquisite wines. Sofitel So Bangkok’s Chocolab, Park Society, and Ballroom will all play host to this year’s culinary events.

The highlight of the epicurean extravaganza is the So Amazing Chef Competition Culinary Showdown, which will take place at The Ballroom on the evening of Friday, 27th September. The two-hour event will pit all the nine chefs against each other in a friendly competition overseen by Thai celebrity guest judges. Guests will have the rare opportunity to admire the maestros at work in close proximity as they compete at their individual cooking stations. All proceeds from the Culinary Showdown will be donated towards the CCF Foundation under the Royal Patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn which helps underprivileged children.
