Rugby enthusiasts will be streaming into Mauritius over the next few days – either by traveling there to be part of the energized crowd themselves or via world broadcast – to witness the World Cup 10s tournament. Rugby is like football on steroids! And on June 18 and 19, Mauritius will host the famous rugby tournament World Cup 10s.

This event will gather some of the best rugby clubs in the world: Cell C Sharks, Italian All Stars, RC Toulon, Stade Franรงais, Saracens, African Pacific Dragons, Acquis Brumbies, and Western Force.


Mauritius will be the epicenter of world rugby this month. The competition will be broadcasted in more than 150 countries and 300 million houses. Furthermore, an exclusive TV show will be created and transmitted on ABC1 channel. This international event has the potential to bring additional overseas visitors and boost the visibility of Mauritius.

The Rugby World Club 10s will take place at the Anjalay stadium. An Indian Ocean tournament including clubs from Mauritius, Reunion Island, Seychelles, Madagascar, and Comoros will also be part of the event.

The World Cup 10s is organized by Carinat Sports Marketing Ltd. and Rugby Union Mauritius, in collaboration with the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA). The event is also sponsored by Air Mauritius and Beachcomber Hotels.
