Marshall Islands poem to save the world: Standing ovation and heartbreaking

A heartfelt poem to save the world was presented by the Republic of the Marshall Islands today at the PATA UNWTO Ministerial Summit on the US island of Guam today.

Small islands on the blue planet – how islands of the Pacific are called – have a challenge, and tourism is seen as a way of income.

Airline monopolies make it often impossible to connect island nations to the rest of the globe, and climate change is threatening countries like the Marshall Islands to vanish.

At the UNWTO Summit, island representatives called for a fight to prevent this.

Delegates gave a standing ovation to a presentation about saving the world – Marshall Island style.
