KAMPALA, Uganda – Uganda is yet again in the sights of the world as another Spanish football team follows in the footsteps of the FC Barcelona Legends that came to Uganda in December 2015. The group of 45 is visiting Uganda on a privately financed safari to experience the country their stars enjoyed.
“Together with Trips and Dreams and A.E. Ramassa, we want to promote Uganda as a tourist destination having learnt about it after the Barcelona Legends visit to Uganda,” says Josep Romani one of the organisers from Spain.
Uganda Tourism Board together with partners Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) and the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) will hold a solidarity soccer game between KCCA FC and the AE Ramassa club.
The football match is on this Saturday 23 April at the Nelson Mandela Stadium, Namboole, on the outskirts of Kampala. FIFA and FUFA have approved the match as an international friendly. Football fans will pay for one match but watch both the KCCA vs AE Ramassa match, and the U20 Hippos vs Rwanda. The match starts at 12noon and entry fee starts at sh10,000. At this fee, football fans will watch both matches.
After the match, the team will donate 700kg of sports equipment and scholastic materials for the UTB Schools Outreach Program.
