Vélo Québec Voyages rolls back into Ontario!


MONTREAL, Canada – The Vélo Québec Voyages team will be at the Toronto International Bicycle Show, on from March 4 to 6, 2016, to let the local cycling community know about the exciting projects on the horizon in the coming year. Through Vélo Québec Voyages, Ontario bike enthusiasts can enjoy a diverse lineup of activities in their beautiful home province, right next door in Quebec, or at a host of destinations around the globe.

One of Vélo Québec’s signature events, the Grand Tour Desjardins, has been hosted in Ontario twice – once in 2011, and once in 2014. Inspired by this resounding success, Vélo Québec Voyages will be unveiling brand-new self-guided tours in the Thousand Islands and Niagara regions, which will complement their already popular vacation packages available in both of these areas as well as Georgian Bay.

For those with their sights set on destinations abroad, Vélo Québec Voyages also offers a number of options leaving from Toronto, including Hamburg/Copenhagen, Costa Brava, Majorca, Greece (Cyclades Islands), Apulia, Tuscany, the Canadian Rockies (Jasper/Calgary), Sonoma/Napa Valley, San Francisco/Santa Barbara, Tucson and Cuba.

Grand Tour Desjardins 2016: bike in concert with the Ottawa River!

This year’s Grand Tour Desjardins will embrace the regions of Ontario, the Outaouais and the Laurentians. From August 6 to 12, an impressive procession of about 1,800 cyclists will bike hundreds of kilometers through the municipalities of Plantagenet, Gatineau, Papineauville-Montebello and Lachute. And for the first time, cyclists will spend two nights in each of the three stopover towns, giving them more freedom to organize their trip as they please.

Go Bike Montréal Festival, May 29 to June 5, 2016: the world’s largest cycling festival!

Organized by Vélo Québec, the Go Bike Montréal Festival, extending from May 29 to June 5, 2016, is a series of unique cycling experiences offering a different perspective of the greater Montreal area. Dedicated to cyclists and urban life, the Go Bike Montréal Festival invites citizens and cyclists, from here and elsewhere, to participate in this one-of-a-kind international gathering. Bicycle fever will be taking over the city, with an exciting series of much-anticipated events, including the Tour la Nuit and the Tour de l’Île de Montréal.
