INDIA (eTN) – The Federation of Indian Airlines (FIA) has appealed to Jitendra Singh, Minister for Development of the North East Region, to keep the interests of the airlines while formulating and finalizing the civil aviation policy.
Senior people of the FIA met Singh in Delhi on February 17 and gave a memorandum to the Minister listing their demands, including the need to have a equal playing field for the airlines, which feel that there should be no discrimination in the new policy on issues such as flying to backwards areas and on rules about flying abroad.
Jitendra Singh assured the top-level delegation that he would pass on the memo to the Civil Aviation Ministry.
