Andy Hemmington of http://www.comparecarhire.co.uk says: “Breaking down these costs to popular destinations revealed that holidaymakers could spend nearly 70% more filling a hire car in Italy than Tenerife. We compiled this list to let them see where their money is going to go, allowing them to budget accordingly. However, although in Spain and some surrounding islands you can grab yourself a bargain, all the countries’ prices are similar to the UK cost so travellers aren’t in for a huge shock.”
With an exchange rate of โฌ1.18 to each British pound, converted UK prices are โฌ1.59 for petrol and โฌ1.63 for diesel, giving an average fuel cost of โฌ1.610. This would place them in 9th place out of a possible 11 if included in the chart.
