DUBAI, UAE – Co-organizer of the Chinese Visitor Summit in Abu Dhabi, Nicholas Publishing International (NPI) has won the prestigious Chinese Tourists Welcoming (CTW) Award 2012, given by the Chinese Outbound Tourism Research Institute (COTRI) at COTTM in Beijing, China.

The CTW Award is given to organizations that successfully develop best practices to welcome and serve visitors from mainland China.

“NPI was selected as the winner by an international panel of judges looking for an organization that went the extra mile in 2012 towards catering to the desires of Chinese tourists by offering excellent products and services that meet their specific requirements when travelling abroad,” said Dr. Wolfgang Georg Arlt, director of COTRI.

A number of prominent organizations have been granted the CTW Chinese Tourists Welcoming Award since it was first introduced 10 years ago, including The Wimbledon Championships, Marriott Hotels Group and The Hard Rock Café.

NPI is the co-organizer of the annual Chinese Visitor Summit in the UAE along with i2i Group in China, supported by Abu Dhabi Tourism and Cultural Authority and produces a number of Mandarin language publications for Chinese visitors travelling to the destination, including Concierge magazine and The Dubai Mall Magazine Mandarin issues.

Upon winning the award at the China Outbound Travel and Tourism Market Exhibition in Beijing, NPI’s Managing Director, Rob Stephen Nicholas, commented: “This is not only a win for us, but a win for the UAE as a whole. The Chinese market is huge and this award highlights that the country is a welcoming place for Chinese visitors – a key driver when selecting a holiday destination. I’m delighted with the exposure this award will provide in highlighting the UAE’s attraction for outbound Chinese travelers. Thank you for the recognition.”

NPI has worked hard to position the UAE as luxury destination for Chinese travelers through a number of channels that include the annual Chinese Visitor Summit where tourism buyers and suppliers can meet face-to-face, published media, online promotion and social media. It was this integrated approach that stood out for the panel of judges.

NPI’s award comes only a few days after the publisher announced dates for this year’s edition of the Chinese Visitor Summit and just one month before the introduction of Concierge in China distributed to over 30,000 tour operators in key cities throughout China. This year’s Chinese Visitor Summit will take place September 2-3, 2013 at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. Official hospitality partners for the event are The Fairmont Bab Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi; The Ritz-Carton Grand Canal, Abu Dhabi; and The Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi.
