YARDLEY, Pennsylvania – Global Traveler, the only monthly magazine for business and luxury travelers, announces the appointment of Doug Shingleton as Advertising Manager.

Shingleton brings a wealth of diverse experience to the Global Traveler team. He worked in event management for Mercedes Benz Fashion Week and the Tribeca Film Festival. Shingleton has also been responsible for the creation of several luxury and niche publications, launching and redesigning them to great fanfare and awards over the past decade. He served as brand planning strategist for the liquor industry, creating 360-degree holistic consumer marketing programs for Publicis Dialog, a division of Publicis Group.

“Doug is a very welcome addition to the team at Global Traveler,” said Francis X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO. “His varied experience will bring new perspectives and opportunities to the GT brand, and we look forward to seeing his success with the magazine.”

Prior to an advertising career, he was a management trainee for Hilton Hotels in the Midwest, assisting in the renovation of Chicago Hilton and Towers and Palmer House Hilton. Additionally, he assisted in opening the InterContinental Hotel Chicago.

“I am very pleased to return to the media environment and to the travel industry,” said Shingleton. “This industry was my first career choice.”

YARDLEY, Pennsylvania – Global Traveler, the only monthly magazine for business and luxury travelers, announces the appointment of Mark Branle as Advertising Manager.

Branle joins the Global Traveler team from McNeil Media Group, where he most recently served as Vice President of Sales and Operations. Branle brings a well-rounded background in advertising, including expertise in sales and marketing campaigns and corporate branding.

In his role as Advertising Manager, Branle will handle major accounts in the United States, including American Airlines, Marriott, Hilton, Lufthansa, British Airways, and oneworld, and assume the territories of Africa and the Middle East, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

Branle enjoys training and racing with the largest amateur cycling team in the northeastern United States. He currently holds several masters category titles in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York and is gearing up for spring races. In addition, he is involved in a youth cycling development program for his team.
