ASTANA, Kazakhstan – Air Astana, Kazakhstan’s award winning flag carrier, will launch new services from Almaty and Astana to Kiev, capital of Ukraine on 31st March and 1st April 2013 . The Almaty to Kiev service will be operated three times a week (Tuesday / Friday / Sunday), with the flight by Airbus A320 taking five hours. The Astana to Kiev service will also initially be operated three times a week (Monday/ Wednesday/ Saturday), with the flight by Embraer E190 taking four hours.
Two new Air Astana services to Russia will be launched next month, with Atyrau, on the Caspian Sea, to Moscow commencing three times a week on the 1st April and Astana to Orenburg in southern Russia commencing three times a week on 16th April. Both services will be operated three times a week using Embraer E190 aircraft and bring the total number of Air Astana routes to Russia up to eleven. Air Astana marked ten years of successful operation to Russia in September 2012 and currently operates over 50 services week from Almaty and Astana to Moscow, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Samara, St Petersberg and Yakaterinberg.
Air Astana provides convenient onward international connections from its new Ukraine and Russia services to destinations in Central Asia and Asia, including Baku, Bangkok, Beijing, Bishkek, Dehli, Dushanbe, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul and Tashkent.

Air Astana commenced regular flight operations on 15th May 2002 and currently operates a network of almost 60 international and domestic routes from hubs in Almaty, Astana and Atyrau. Air Astana flies an all western fleet comprising of two Boeing 767s, five Boeing 757s, eleven Airbus A320 family, and six Embraer E190s. Air Astana has become the first carrier from Russia /the CIS /Eastern Europe to be awarded the prestigious 4-Star rating in the Skytrax World Airline Awards 2012 and was named The Best Airline in Central and South Asia.
Air Astana is a full member of the International Air Transport Association and was the first airline in Kazakhstan to achieve EU EASA Part 145 aircraft maintenance certification.
Air Astana is a joint venture between Kazakhstan’s national wealth fund Samruk Kazyna and BAE Systems, with respective shares of 51% and 49%.
