No big damage expected after major earthquake in Taiwan

A strong earthquake has been felt throughout Taiwan. Most earthquake don’t cause casualties or damage. So far no damages had been reported.

A strong earthquake has been felt throughout Taiwan. Most earthquake don’t cause casualties or damage. So far no damages had been reported.

The Taiwan Central Weather Bureau says the quake Wednesday registered at magnitude 6.1.

The tremor struck a rural township in Nantou County, about 250 kilometers (about 155 miles) south of Taipei where it swayed buildings.
