MAHE, Seychelles – Emirates, one of the world’s fastest-growing airlines, and the Seychelles Tourism Board have renewed their Memorandum of Understanding which aims at jointly promoting the destination throughout the airline’s network.
The official document was signed by Mrs. Elsia Grandcourt, Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and Mr. Ahmed Khoory, Emirates’ Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations – West Asia and Indian Ocean, at the Ministry of Tourism and Culture in Victoria, Seychelles, on Monday, February 11.
“Our commitment to the Seychelles is demonstrated in the renewal of our agreement which aims at engaging in joint promotional activities for the benefit of the archipelago,” said Ahmed Khoory. “The Seychelles is a very important destination to Emirates, and this explains why we are renewing our commitment to promote its attractions around our global network.”
“We will develop a series of joint activities with the Ministry of Tourism and the Seychelles Tourism Board so as to increase the visibility of the destination with our clients and are confident that positive results will be seen in the short term. We truly believe that this partnership is beneficial to both parties,” added Mr. Khoory.
“The Seychelles Tourism Board thanks Emirates for its continued support. We value the support we have received from the airline, especially for being the Partner Airline of the Carnaval International de Victoria,” said Mrs. Grandcourt. “The renewed Memorandum of Understanding consolidates this partnership for 2013-14. It is another positive sign of the airline’s commitment to work with Seychelles.”
“The Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Seychelles Tourism Board value the support of Emirates. It is thanks to this joint working partnership that we have been able to fly the biggest contingent of international media to cover the 2013 Carnival,” said the Minister of Tourism and Culture, Alain St. Ange, “Emirates also continues to provide the Tourism Board with an allocation of airline seats from anywhere in the world for tour operators, travel agents, and press throughout the year. We appreciate this support as it helps our tourism industry.”
Emirates will also provide the Seychelles travel trade with discounted rates when participating in Tourism Board events.
With 12-weekly flights to the Seychelles, Emirates has the highest number of flights to the archipelago and is the only airline offering three classes of travel: First Class, Business Class, and Economy Class to the Seychelles.
Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP).
